Nancy Drew and the Case of the 50 dollar Shih Tzu

Sat at the clinic in Bolton. The girls tell me to phone the owner of a dog she adopted off of Kijiji. Two days ago I happened to be on Kijiji when I spied the ad of a dog for sale for $50.00. All the dogs listed were in the hundred or two or three hundred dollar range. Except this one.
a 16 or 17 year old girl went to the home of the same listed dog and found deplorable conditions. This little dog was so matted he couldn't walk. She left with the dog if only to save his life. She was there with her girlfriends who were texting each other and their friends about the condition of the dog and the other dogs that were there. apparently there were 3 or 4 dogs in the house.
She brought him in at lunch hour and said "what am I to do?" with this little wreck of a dog.
So whoever was on that afternoon obtained a sample of blood and he is coming in to be neutered next week. I'll see what he looks like then.
Reminds me of the dog I saw in N. Falls so many years ago named Sweetie who came in to be euthanized. (she wasn't) The owner claimed to have found her but had lied. The dog was so matted it had cones of matts over her eyes rendering her functionally blind. When will the cowardice of humankind ever end?
